Cub Scouts is inspired by The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
"It was seven o'clock of a very warm evening in the Seeonee hills when Father Wolf woke up from his day's rest....". And so begins the story of Mowgli's life in the Jungle. Baden-Powell chose Mowgli as a model for cubs because of his adventurous life, and also for the lessons he had to learn to survive in the Jungle. Click on the book below to read the story. Above is 1st Lismore's. The colours black and gold come from the kitchen colours of Sir Walter Davidson who was the Governor of New South Wales around the time Lismore Scouts began, and also the colours of the Regent Bowerbird, native to the rainforests of this area.
